Primrose

Built in Flotta by James Nicholson of the Smithy for William Sutherland (old man O’Aval) in late 1870s or early 1880s. She passed down to his son, also called William (man O’Aval) in the early 1930s.

Primrose is a fine example of an Orkney square stern racing dinghy in almost original condition.

Primrose was reputed to be a fine sailing boat, coming first in the regatta held in Flotta in 1937.
