Foam

A North Isles yole built around 1880 by Robert Miller of Eday for William Gray of Stackygoes. She is an open yawl with main jib and foresail.

Foam was built for cod fishing using hand lines, and creel fishing.

1st Fishing Registration as K274 was in 1883 Owner William Gray and Master John Gray. She was passed down to William’s younger son, Sam, who undertook some modifications in 1927 which allowed her to carry bigger sails which unusually had four sets of reefing points (the normal being three).

2nd Fishing Registration as K32 was 4 July 1929 for Samuel Gray of School Place, Eday.

After 1931 she was mainly raced at Regattas where she won a number of cups, the last being in 1937.
